The Shepherd of Hermas was written in the first half of the second century. The book was one of the most popular books, if not the most popular book, in the Christian Church during the second, third, and fourth centuries. Some of the early Church fathers such as Irenaeus and Origen even considered to be as inspired as scripture. The work bears traces of having been written in Italy although it was originally written in the Greek language. This audio book is based on the translation done by Reverend F. Crombie which was originally printed in 1885. It has been edited and the language updated for the modern reader/hearer.
